PeerBlock è un programma fondamentale per tutti coloro che scaricano dalle reti p2p e desiderano un minimo di sicurezza ed è l'erede del famoso PeerGuardian che al momento pare essere un progetto abbandonato. PeerBlock is a basic program for those who download from P2P networks and want a minimum of security and is the heir of the famous PeerGuardian which currently seems to be an abandoned project.
Il programma si occupa di bloccare tutti gli accessi da e verso indirizzi IP 'cattivi'. The program takes care of blocking all access to and from IP addresses 'bad'.
Per cattivi si intende tutti quegli IP che appartengono a associazioni governative, associazioni anti piracy etc etc. To bad you mean all those who belong to IP-governmental associations, associations anti piracy etc etc.
La politica di blocco degli indirizzi IP si basa su delle liste che il programma scarica periodicamente e che vengono aggiornate di frequente. The policy of blocking IP addresses is based on the listings periodically download the program and that is updated frequently.

L'ultima opzione permette di bypassare queste regole per il traffico web (HTTP) quindi se selezionata le connessioni sulla porta 80 e 443 verranno comunque permesse. The last option allows you to bypass these rules for web traffic (HTTP) so if you checked the connections on port 80 and 443 will still be permitted.
Per capire se PeerBlock sta realmente funzionando basterà (dopo averlo lanciato) aprire il prompt dei comandi e eseguire un ping verso 3.0.0.0 un IP di proprietà di General Electric. To understand whether PeerBlock is really just working (after launch) open the command prompt and run ping 3.0.0.0 IP owned by General Electric. In windows 7 comparirà la dicitura Errore generale mentre in Xp verrà segnalato una destinazione di rete non raggiungibile. Windows 7 appears in the heading General error while XP will be marked for a destination network unreachable.
Vi ricordo che non esiste un programma che rende del tutto sicuro scaricare dalla rete e anche PeerBlock non puo garantire nulla se non un minimo di privacy in più. I remind you that there is a program that makes it completely safe download from the network and also PeerBlock can not guarantee anything but a minimum of privacy more.
